« Jaws-Wilde Cinco? Yeah, it happened again! »

Elena Kagan bears striking resemblance to the Penguin. Or is it vice versa?

I’ll get on reposting the old ones so those nostalgic few can nostalgicize.

Update 5/28/10: Now you can access all the classic Jaws-Wilde mashups, beginning with Goddam. I mean… Goddam., continuing through Jaws-Wilde Part Deux and Jaws-Wilde Threeve, and finally ending with the memorable Jaws-Wilde Catorce. Order today!

I thought it would be funny to superimpose friends’ faces onto the picture, but this was as far as I got. Cheers!

« Letters to people »

Daydreaming, I thought about writing a letter to William Shakespeare. More shockingly, I settled on mailing it.

And what’s the harm in sending mail to a dead Englishman? It’s fine to sit around and jovially solve the riddles of his plays, but there are some questions that cannot be answered by any amount of analysis. For instance, what is his favorite color? What is his favorite drink? Meal? I’d even just like to begin a conversation with him, tell him a bit about myself. Suggest a few books. Or movies. Bah, I’d ask him for his email address so I could show him some videos on YouTube.

Even if I can’t have that conversation with him, I’d be happy talking with the person that ends up opening the letter. “Sir, I regret to inform you that WS is dead…” I can’t believe someone would write that, unless they have no humor for absurdity. “Bill’s dead, but I can appreciate [insert book title] just the same…” the person might say, and I’d have a new pen-pal.

« Packing up and moving downtown »

Within the next few weeks I’ll be moving the website to a different host to more accurately reflect the needs of the site and my wallet. Don’t get me wrong: my current host has been nothing short of wonderful, but I’m paying for features I don’t want and space I simply don’t use.

Along with a new host I’ll be reconsidering what content I present on this site. I’m ashamed to say I’ve been a horrible manager, allowing fancy applications to catch my eye and take my time away from what I started this whole thing for in the first place: to write and share some fun games. (I’ve been missing Slime Soccer for some time now so one of these days I’ll get it working through my blog.) The forum will probably disappear, although there’s very little remaining now that it ever existed since I unintentionally made phpBB inaccessible. When I switch I’ll keep the content focus and organized through textpattern, a great CMS that I’ve failed to utilize to its full potential. For some time the only blog entries will be those post-migration, with my entire catalog reemerging sometime around the summer (an optimistic estimate at best). Since I’m not feeling too saucy I’ll keep the style (I know, crazy right?!) because it’s worked this long with no major flaws and, if I may say so, looks pretty damn clean.

So to summarize: no forum, yes blog, yes games, maybe new games(?), maybe old entries. Let’s see if I follow through.

Update 3/4/10: The new host has transferred my domain to their registrar and all the necessary files are on the new server! Aside from the obligatory troubles that come with uploading files and installing new software, the migration has been quick and—as far as I can tell—successful. The only available content right now is the journal, but I plan on steadily uploading games through next week; the forum, unless I get some serious traffic with serious talkers, will remain offline. Expect fresh written content soon.
